World Waqf Day Video Contest
RULES AND GUIDELINES

All entries must be a digital video format.

Each entry must focus on either the following topic related to WAQF, for examples:

What does Waqf means to you
-
Waqf Awareness
-
Element of change in Waqf
-

Students may work together in groups or submit entries as individuals.

The length of the video should not exceed 60 seconds (1 minute).

All entries should begin with a 5 second full-screen “title screen” that includes the following information:

Producer’s name
-
School name
-
School city, state, country
-
Title of video
-

All information presented in the video must be cited, giving credit to the original source. Plagiarism of any kind will result in disqualification. You DO NOT need to include your citations in your video. However, upon request you must be able to list of your sources, properly cited.

Each video must have one Lead Producer to serve as the main point of contact. Recognition and prizes will be given to the lead producer and all those listed as co-producers on the entry form.

There is no entry fee.

Entries may be submitted through the website starting on [Day,Date,Year]. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm (GMT +8, Malaysia) on [Day,Date,Year]. Winners will be announced no later than [Day,Date,Year].

No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted materials.

No professional assistance is allowed. Adults may assist with production but are limited to verbal guidance only. Adults are allowed to be actors or cameramen but not content contributors.

All portions of the online entry form must be completed when you upload your video for it to be eligible.

IF CHOSEN AS WINNERS you must submit a signed/completed Parent Permission Form and a signed/completed Actor Release Form for each person appearing in your video. Forms can be scanned/emailed to: hello@worldwaqfday.org.

Content must comply with all local and national laws of the country of origin and the Malaysia laws. Content must not: 1) promote illegal behavior; 2) support racial, religious, sexual or other invidious prejudice; 3) advocate sexual or violent exploitation; 4) violate rights established by law or agreement; 5) invade the privacy of any person; or 6) be otherwise inappropriate as determined by World Waqf Day ‘WWD’ in its sole and conclusive determination.

The judges’ decision is final. Entries will be judged by topics.

The only compensation for submitting a video is the opportunity to be awarded a prize if the entry wins. World Waqf Day ‘WWD’ will pay filmmakers no additional compensation nor be liable to the filmmaker under any circumstances.

Students may submit as many videos entries as they wish. However, only 1 first place prize will be awarded per student/team, and no student/team may receive more than 2 awards total per contest cycle.

All entries must either be submitted in English or, if in another language, include English subtitles.

Awards will be presented as follows:
Top 3 Videos according to Age Categories :
i) Below 7 years’ old

One (1st) First Place: Ringgit Malaysia $ 350.00

One (2nd) Second Place: Ringgit Malaysia $ 100.00

One (3rd) Third Place: Ringgit Malaysia $ 50.00
ii) 8 years’ old to 11 years’ old

One (1st) First Place: Ringgit Malaysia $ 350.00

One (2nd) Second Place: Ringgit Malaysia $ 100.00

One (3rd) Third Place: Ringgit Malaysia $ 50.00
iii) 12 years’ old to Age 15 years’ old

One (1st) First Place: Ringgit Malaysia $ 350.00

20. Students should keep at least one copy of their video. World Waqf Day ‘WWD’ is not
responsible for any films that are lost, damaged, or that do not upload properly.
21. Ownership of the underlying intellectual property of the project remains with the students,
with the following exceptions.
22. Students shall grant World Waqf Day ‘WWD’ the right to use their names, photographs,
statements, quotes, testimonials, and video submissions for advertising, publicity, and
promotional purposes without notification or further compensation.
23. Students also shall grant World Waqf Day ‘WWD’ the right to use, reproduce, reprint,
distribute, perform, and/or display the student’s project video without further compensation
or notification to the student.
24. World Waqf Day ‘WWD’ maintains the right to reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform,
display, or exhibit the project for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes on their
website, at conferences, or at any other venues.
25. By accepting the prizes, winners agree to hold World Waqf Day ‘WWD’ and all its
employees harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of such prizes.
Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused from participation in this
contest or use/redemption of any prize.
26. Students shall agree to be bound by the official contest rules and decisions of the judges.
27. Rules may be subject to change at the Organizer's discretion and the participants undertake
to indemnify the Organizer for any claim arising from the video submitted.
